What kind of browser/software/OS do I need to use Laguna Survey?

You don't need anything else than your web browser to use Laguna Survey, and we don't put any restrictions on which OS you use.
You need a browser that either is compatible with W3C's web standards concerning Javascript, XHTML and CSS, or Internet Explorer 7.0 or higher. In practical terms that means you may use:

Internet Explorer for Windows
Mozilla Firefox
Safari
Opera
Google Chrome

You will also need cookies and Javascript enabled. We test for these conditions when you log in, so if you successfully log in everything should be fine. Other browsers than the ones listed above may also work, but we cannot guarantee it.

What kind of browser/OS do the participants need to take a survey?

The demands in that regard are very low, to include as many as possible. The participants need a generation 4 browser (approx. 1999) or better on any OS. Participants do not need to have Cookies or Javascript enabled in their browser

Can I run open, or invitation-based, surveys with Laguna Survey?

Both. You can use the open link to let anybody who can click the link answer the survey. Or you can add email-addresses to the survey as explicit participants. Or both.

Can I produce anonymous surveys with Laguna Survey?

Yes. You choose whether the participants should be anonymous when you add them. Even if your participants are anonymous, you can still view individual answers and even send individual participants email.

Has Laguna Survey got feature x or y?

To find out how Laguna Survey works, you have several options. One is to go to our demo page and look at the tutorial videos. They will provide a quick run-through of how to create and run a survey, but do not cover every aspect of Laguna Survey.

Another possibility is to set up an account, log in and open the Help menu. There you will find extensive manuals covering every aspect of Laguna Survey, as well as more tutorial videos. There is also an exstensive User's Manual which you can download directly from the Documentation section.

How safe are my info and data in Laguna Survey?

We take security very seriously. Without delving into details regarding our security regime, we can tell you that your password is never stored in plain text, but is 'salted' and stored with strong encryption. Furthermore, as to our own infrastructure, our policy is "lock down and turn off". We then turn on and unlock just what is needed to run Laguna Survey, nothing more.

We also have a backup policy in place with onsite and offsite backup of critical data.

Can I test Laguna Survey (without paying)?

Of course! You don't even have to contact us to get a test account. Just set up an account and start testing. You can even test a core element of Laguna Survey without setting up an account or even parting with as much as your email address. How much does it cost to use Laguna Survey?

First and foremost: it is completely free to use the full version of Laguna Survey with up to 25 answers 75 answers per survey.

If your survey generates more than 75 answers the price depends on how many answers you choose to buy (if you decide to buy any more, that is completely up to you), and whether you choose to buy more answers for one survey or a one year subscription. We operate with a very low price of admission. You can see all of our prices in the price list.

How do I pay for using Laguna Survey?

There is a link to Laguna Survey's built-in web store to the left, in the main menu, when you are logged in. You pay by credit card or by invoice (Norway only). We accept Visa and Mastercard. The credit card transaction is handled securely in a separate window, and is provided by DIBS AS using PBS Intl. Extra transaction security is provided by using 'Verified By Visa' and 'Mastercard SecureCode'.
